GRIT
GROWTH MINDSET - RESILIENCY - INTENTIONALITY - TENACITY
Special Warfare Operators are trained to the highest level to perform their duties quickly and efficiently, placing these duties before personal desires and comforts. Special Warfare operators are called upon to perform at their best when someone is at their worse.
Over time this can eventually take its toll on the operators mental and physical health and family.
Who rescues the rescuer? What is operator syndrome? Training prepares you for how to handle the emergency. Who prepares you for after the emergency is over?
Special Warfare Pararescueman, Law Enforcement, Fire Fighter and EMS are trained to handle the Emergency and we are here to help after the Emergency is over when you experience something that you were not prepared for and maybe were unable to process. We want to help before and after to prepare operators for mental toughness before and after the call.
We want you to be the skilled warrior you were trained to be. We just want to help build mental toughness before and after through our Growth Mindset - Resiliency - Intentionality - Integrity programs directed towards individual, family and spouses.
growth mindset
Growth mindset is the belief that a person's intelligence and abilities can grow and improve with practice

resilience
The process and outcome of successfully adapting too difficult or challenging life experiences, especially through mental, emotional, and behavioral flexibility and adjustment to external and internal demands. A number of factors contribute to how well people adapt to adversities, predominant among them (a) the ways in which individuals view and engage with the world, (b) the availability and quality of social resources, and (c) specific coping strategies. Psychological research demonstrates that the resources and skills associated with more positive adaptation (i.e., greater resilience) can be cultivated and practiced. Also called psychological resilience. See also coping behavior; coping-skills training. —resilient adj.

intentionality
Ones ability to act purposefully or deliberately, guided by intentions in the sense of mental representations of goals.
TENACITY
Ones quality or trait of being persistent, determined, and resilient in the pursuit of goals, despite facing obstacles, setbacks, or challenges. It represents an individual's ability to maintain motivation and drive in the face of adversity

Our community of local farms, wineries and vendors are a strong supporter of military organizations like ours. With donations to our GRIT 501(c)(3) we use the funds to bring veterans and their families out to our beautiful farmland and work individually and in groups depending on the needs of the veteran. Allowing them to decompress under Licensed therapy professionals, they process through approved treatment programs designed to work as individuals and as families so that the veterans can improve mental health and family strength while experiencing fun activities Long Island farm country has to offer.
Joseph and Danielle Piccoli are the program director and Licensed Clinical Social Workers. Joseph is a retired Special Warfare Pararescueman with 21 years of military experience and has navigated the military and Veterans Affairs Medical Evaluation Process. We work in the community to provide mental health treatment for the Special Warfare Pararescueman community as well as the Emergency Responders and their families. All treatment and activities are funded by contributions to the GRIT Program 501(c)(3), the PJ Foundation and local community companies/organizations that want to help give back to our veterans and First Responders that have given so much to all of Americans.
